When it comes to buying a wedding dress what does Off The Rack mean?

OK I don't mean to sound dense but what does "Off The Rack" mean? I was reading a wedding dress article and it said that maybe buying off the rack would be the quickest and easiest option.

Administration	Best Answer Off The Rack simply means that you are selecting your dress from exisiting store inventory - that is usually hanging on the display racks. There is an entire wedding planning article devited to wedding dress buying / shopping that can be found in our article directory.
